I am from the big blue house on the corner of the street.
I am from scraped knees and elbow after falling off my bright pink bike with the ribbons.
I am from building sandcastles on the beach, staying far away from icy cold water.
I am from the smell of french toast bagels every Sunday morning before church.
I am from rainy days spent curled up on the couch in my sweatshirt, too lazy to do anything.
I am from a Canon camera, the best $700 I ever spent.
I am from making mistakes, but not regretting a thing.
I am from good times, bad times, and experiences that shaped me into the person I am today.
Your poem was descriptive and i loved it. i pictured the bike with the ribbons and rainy days spent curled up on the couch. it was a good poem
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this poem. I love how you said "I am from the smell of french toast bagels every Sunday morning before church." even though there wasn't a lot of imagery, I could picture it very vividly and smell the french toast bagel myself. I also like how you say "I am from making mistakes, but not regretting a thing". That is probably my favorite line. Great poem Hunter! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved this poem, it really gives you an idea of how you became the person you are, and some of the memories you have. My favorite line was when you talked about the french toast bagels :) I love them!!! Great piece :)
